1 paperback magazine, and 3 cover design
Brief
This project involved designing a magazine focused on visual culture, featuring an editor’s note, contents page, three articles, and a listings section. Three alternative covers were created to test the versatility of the visual identity.
Target Audience
The magazine targets a broad audience, including 1950s-era individuals, scholars of mid-century and atomic-age culture, and creatives inspired by retro-futurism.

Solution
Atomus is crafted to celebrate the retro-futurist aesthetics of the mid-twentieth century, capturing the complex blend of hope and apprehension that defined the Atomic Age. Our mission is to serve as a wellspring of inspiration for artists, designers, and writers, while also preserving mid-century futuristic cultural heritage for enthusiasts and academics alike.
Each issue will feature exclusive collectible stickers and posters, making Atomus a unique keepsake for those passionate about the era’s visionary style.

Final design
The final cover features an original hand-drawn illustration created by me, reflecting the 1950s context when manual drawing was a primary mode of creative expression. The design also incorporates period-appropriate typography and layout, including the use of Franklin Gothic and a curved, shadowed title style characteristic of the era.

Atomus celebrates mid-century American retro-futurist aesthetics, reimagined through a contemporary lens by combining 1950s-inspired typography and visual style.
